League of Women Surfers. Events will include longboard, shortboard

The 50th annual Distance Derby will begin with a 10-mile run
through Surf City, which will be followed by a 5-mile run/walk and
the Surf Kids Fun Run. Same-day registration will be at 6 a.m. The
first event will begin at 7 p.m., 5-mile event will start at 8:30
a.m. and the fun run will begin at 10 a.m. All events will start at
the Huntington Beach Pier, near Pacific Coast Highway and Main
Street. All proceeds will benefit Project Self-Sufficiency, which
aids low-income single parents. The fee to enter the races will be

The seventh annual Huntington Beach Offshore Grand Prix powerboat
races will begin at Peter’s Landing in Huntington Harbour. The races
will take place in the Pacific Ocean between Huntington Beach and

The event will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Peter’s Landing is at 16400
Pacific Coast Highway. There will be no charge to watch the races.
