Bulldogs go OT to stem Riptide
Travis Bertrand’s unassisted goal in an overtime shootout lifted the
Bulldogs past the Riptide, 8-7, in a Howe Division match at Coast 2
Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
It was the last of three goals scored by Bertrand, who also
assisted two other scores.
Kyle Christi tied Bertrand for team scoring honors with a trio of
goals and Ryan Dixon scored twice.
Bryan Ten Berge and Tristan DeBoom each had an assist.
Tyler O’Donnell’s busy day in the net resulted in 41 saves.
Zachary Jezulin scored three goals and had three assists, and Zac
Zomaya netted three goals and had an assist to lead the Riptide.
Andrew Paskil closed out the scoring with a goal and an assist.
Nicholas Jezulin had 24 saves.
In other Howe Division matches:
Pythons 5, Thrashers 2
Nick Evans scored once and assisted his team’s final four goals to
pace the Pythons.
Rinald Hancock and Gregory Hancock each scored twice.
Casey Childers had 21 saves.
Trevor Clark scored two unassisted goals and Andrew Skowron
finished with 30 saves for the Thrashers.
Blades 5, Vipers 3
Michael Gutierrez’s two goals led a Blades offense that saw Jason
Wong, Bo Velasco and Tanner Privia all score once and Michael Thomas,
Joshua Ishizaki and Jordan Bennett each get an assist.
Brandon Jones recorded 30 saves.
For the Vipers, Dimitri Coutsoyannopolis scored twice, Garrett
Blackwell had a goal and an assist and David Stone had 33 saves.
Atomic Punks 8, Hawks 5
Kolyn Switzer scored three times and had an assist, and Tony
McConnell posted three goals for the Atomic Punks.
Aaron Lerman scored once and assisted four other goals, Brandon
Kinney scored once with two assists, Chelsea Griffith had a pair of
assists, and Lauren Kilroy had one assist.
William Baltazar finished with 27 saves.
Daniel Lewis’ two goals and one assist topped the Hawks
offensively.
Kevin Gast also scored twice, Jacob Sabraw scored once and Jayce
Borski had an assist.
David Daley had 31 saves.
In Adams Division play:
Dyno-Mites 12, Red Rhinos 4 Matthew Bodge netted a match-best six goals to power the
Dyno-Mites past the Red Rhinos.
The other six Dyno-Mites goals were split between William Huffman
and Andrew Huffman.
Jake Arnold had an assist and Trevor Dilauro recorded 17 saves.
Riley Draghi led the Red Rhinos with three goals and an assist and
Zoe Draghi scored once.
Chad Sasaki had 37 saves.
Rink Rats 3, Kings 1
Ashton McKeown scored the final two goals to lift the Rink Rats
past the Kings.
Shane Williams had 20 saves.
Benjamin Jaeger scored unassisted for the Kings and Annalia Aden
finished with seven saves.
