Glenn Mitchell, who has coached the boys and girls track and field
teams at Costa Mesa High for the past two years, has resigned from
his position, marking the fourth resignation within the school’s
athletic department during the past three months.
Mitchell, who coached the boys and girls cross country teams in
2002 and assisted in 2003, guided the girls track and field team to a
Golden West League title in 2003.
Mitchell, an off-campus coach, said he wanted to spend more time
with his wife and their 17-month old daughter.
Nicole Price, who has been an assistant for the past three years,
will take over as head coach, Mitchell said. Price is also an
assistant for the school’s girls soccer team and teaches at the
school.
