COOKING CAMPS

COSTA MESA: Kids in the Kitchen teaches children measuring,

mixing, spreading, cutting, stirring and all the other skills that

get the food together. Each class, students will bring home the

fruits of their labors. Ages invited are 5 to 11. Classes are

Wednesdays, 1:30 to 2:20 p.m. (for 5- to 7-year-olds) and 3 to 3:50

p.m. (for 8- to 12-year-olds) beginning July 28 and running through

CRAFTS CAMPS

COSTA MESA: Clay ‘n Paint Sculpture for Kids lets kids explore

their creative potential in this hands-on painting and sculpting

class. Students need to bring a shoebox and wear a smock or cover-up

to protect clothes. Ages invited are 4 to 12. The camps are Fridays,

3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and run July 23 through Aug. 13, or Mondays, 3:30

to 4:30 p.m. from Aug. 2 through Aug. 23. The cost is $45 plus a $4

COSTA MESA: Kids Craft Time is a program designed to let kids

explore a variety of crafts. Students should wear aprons to protect

clothing. Ages invited are 3 to 8. The camp runs Wednesdays from 10

CULTURAL ARTS CAMPS

NEWPORT BEACH: Broadway Jazz/Musical Theater Camp teaches jazz,

funk and contemporary steps to the tunes from “Annie,” “Grease” and

“The Sound of Music.” Participants should wear comfortable clothes,

sneakers or dance shoes and ring a towel. Ages invited are 8 to 15.

The camp is Monday through Friday, 3 to 4:30 p.m. and begins July 19.
