Sacramento invites Parada

Adam Parada, who completed his UC Irvine men’s basketball career this
past season, is among 17 players invited to the Sacramento Kings’
three-day mini-camp that begins Wednesday.
Players who impress the Kings will represent the organization in
the Summer Pro League, which begins July 10 at Long Beach State.
Parada, a 7-foot center, averaged 12.3 points to lead the
Anteaters in scoring in 2003-04. He also led the team in rebounding
with 6.6 per game and he shot 58.1% from the field as a senior.
Parada is UCI’s career leader in blocked shots (149). He is third
in school career annals in rebounds (775) and eighth in points
(1,320).
Parada’s competition at the mini-camp will include fellow center
invitees John Edwards (7-0 from Kent State), Chris Garnett (6-11 from
Indiana Southwest), Jason Keep (6-10 from the University of San
Diego) and Jabari Smith (6-11 from LSU).
