The Nuggets won the city’s Junior Basketball League championship last
week by defeating the Kings in overtime, and big man Daniel Morrison
had a big hand in the team’s postseason title run.
Morrison poured in 49 points in the final and ended the season as
the league’s top scorer.
In 15 games, Morrison averaged 34.4 points.
He was named the league’s top offensive player and shared the
regular season MVP honor with Tyler Stowers of the Tartans, who won
the regular season championship.
The Tartans did not participate in the postseason tournament.
Two other players averaged 20 or more points per game, as the
White Uniform’s Dylan Roley and Alex Vasquez of the Lakers each
averaged 23 points in 16 and 14 games, respectively.
Roley was awarded the league’s “most improved” player award and
was the league’s most productive three-point shooter with 49 treys.
Kevin Buck of the Artists, who finished among the top 10 in
scoring with an 18.5 average, led the league in two categories: free
throw shooting and was named the league’s best defensive player.
