CdM denied ranking
* BASEBALL: A CIF Southern Section Division IV championship and a
25-5 record were apparently not enough for the Corona del Mar High
baseball team to be included in the SchoolSports/Champion National
Baseball Top 25 high school final rankings, which put La Quinta at
No. 22.
La Quinta was upset by Tesoro, 4-1, in the CIF Division IV
semifinals June 1.
Corona del Mar, which ended its season on 17-game winning streak,
defeated Tesoro, 3-1, to capture the CIF Division IV title at Dodger
Stadium June 5.
Chatsworth, which went 35-0 and won the CIF Los Angeles City
Section title, received the top ranking.
