Costa Mesa ready for youth

A field of 140 golfers will converge on Costa Mesa Golf & Country
Club’s Mesa Linda course Thursday in the 14th annual Costa Mesa
junior championships, conducted by the Southern California PGA.
Golfers will tee off beginning at 6 a.m. with players in the final
group expected to start their rounds about 11:30 a.m.
Divisions for boys include 11-and-under, 12-13, 14-15 and 16-17.
Girls divisions are split into 11-and-under, 12-14 and 15-17. Golfers
in the boys 16-17 age division begin teeing off at 6 a.m. on No. 1.
Golden West League individual champion Marcus Sostak, from
Estancia High, along with Corona del Mar’s Ben Tilsen, are two area
golfers scheduled to compete.
Newport Harbor’s Natalie Draganza, the two-time defending Sea View
League individual champion, and Corona del Mar’s Katie McKitterick
are in the girls field.
Trophies and prizes will be awarded.
