Local squads in the quarters

Five quarterfinal games involving Costa Mesa American Little League

and Costa Mesa National Little League baseball teams, spanning three

divisions, are on tap today in the District 62 Tournament of

Champions.

The Costa Mesa National Majors (ages 10-12) Dodgers face the

Robinwood Angels at noon at host Seaview Little League (LeBard Park)

in Huntington Beach. The Dodgers defeated the Ocean View Cubs, 5-2,

Wednesday to advance.

LeBard Park will also host three other games involving area teams.

The Costa Mesa National Minor A Giants face a Fountain Valley team

at noon while the Costa Mesa American Minor B Angels take on a

Huntington Valley squad at the same time. At 9 a.m., the Costa Mesa

National Minor B Padres will duel a Seaview team.

The fields at Robinwood Little League, adjacent to Marina High,

will host the Costa Mesa American Minor B Yankees against the Costa

Mesa National Giants at noon.

Winners of today’s games advance to Monday’s semifinals in their

respective divisions of the single-elimination tournament. Monday

games begin at 5 p.m. at the same sites.

Championship games are scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday at

Robinwood.

LeBard Park is at 20451 Craimer Lane while the Robinwood fields at

Marina Park are at 15796 Graham Street.
