Fire causes damage to mobile home
An attic fire in a mobile home in Newport Beach on Monday morning
caused $40,000 worth of damage. Twenty-three firefighters from
Newport Beach and the Orange County Fire Authority responded to the
blaze at the Bayside Villas, which occurred around 11:40 a.m. The
fire, which was mostly confined within the attic area over the
kitchen, was caused by a halogen lamp in the kitchen, according to a
press release.
The fire caused $35,000 in structural damage and $5,000 to
contents. Bayside Villas is off Coast Highway, across the Back Bay

18-year-old arrested after alleged groping
An 18-year-old male was arrested for allegedly groping an Orange
Coast College student Friday morning. Jesse Lara was apprehended
after he groped a 24-year-old Huntington Beach resident.
Lara reportedly followed his target around campus for a little
while then grabbed her from behind and grinded his pelvic area
against her, said Costa Mesa Police Dept. Sgt. Bob Ciszek. Lara tried
to pull her away from where she was standing, but she was able to
break free, Ciszek added.
