Tartans keep the win streak intact
The Tartans barely kept their record spotless in Junior Basketball
League play at Laguna Beach High as they escaped a determined effort
from the Artists to pull out a 70-69 victory.
The teams enter the final week of the regular season with three
teams locked in a tie for second-place.
The postseason tournament will follow the completion of league
play.
Hunter Steffien of the Tartans led all scorers with 34 points.
The Artists got 29 points from Kevin Buck.
The win moved the Tartans to 9-0.
The Artists fell to 4-5.
Nuggets 81, Kings 70
Daniel Morrison poured in 32 points and the Nuggets picked up
their fifth victory of the season.
Jack Monroe led the Kings, who are now 3-6, with 23 points.
White Uniforms 59, Lakers 57
Dylan Roley dropped in 29 points as the White Uniforms improved to
4-5.
Alex Vasquez of the Lakers tied Roley for game scoring honors with
29 points.
Trojans 64, Ducks 55
The Trojans (5-4) received 24 points from Bryce Healey and went on
to down the Ducks and move into a three-way tie for second-place in
the standings.
Dylan Doumeng had a game-high 25 points for the Duck, who are now
5-4.
The standings: 1. Tartans, 9-0; 2T. Ducks, Trojans, Nuggets, 5-4;
5T. Artists, White Uniforms, 4-5; 7. Kings, 3-6; 8. Lakers, 1-8.
