Tom and Jerry
Almost everyone knows that veterinary medical expenses are high.
Keeping our rescue animals safe and protected is a requirement of the
people who adopt them and the caregivers who foster them. As a
pro-quality life rescue organization it is our job to keep them
healthy and support them in a time of crisis.
Tom and Jerry are brothers, now 8 months old, that were adopted
and returned by their adopted pet parent because they were ruining
the house.
We immediately reclaimed the animals to seek veterinary care. It
was not hard to recognize Tom’s condition. He had all the classic
symptoms of a urinary tract infection, which are drinking a lot of
water, frequent urination and spending a lot of time digging in the
litter box.
Tom and Jerry had owners who could have performed a simple $50
test that would have confirmed a treatable medical condition with
antibiotics and lessened the financial strain on our organization.
However, that was not done. Our organization is dedicated to
supporting the welfare of our rescues and we believe it was right to
renew custody and consider it to be a medical problem.
We informed the family of Tom’s serious condition but no money has
been made available for his care. It breaks our heart and bank
accounts, but we believe we did the correct thing. If you would like
to help Tom or others that are safeguarded by Community Animal
Network send your checks to P.O. Box 8662, Newport Beach, CA 92658.
