Miller to traverse the trail
The times are stacked against him, but Corona del Mar High junior
Wesley Miller will attempt to play two tournaments today in what is
shaping up to be a busy schedule for the Pacific Coast League singles
champion.
Miller is the 10th seed in the boys 18s singles draw in the United
States Tennis Association’s national open in Torrance with a
first-round match against Orange’s Ryan Sandburg at 9:30 a.m.
Check-in for Miller’s first-round match of the CIF Southern
Section individual boys tennis championships at the Costa Mesa Tennis
Center is scheduled for 11 a.m.
Sandburg is in a similar bind as Miller. Sandburg is scheduled to
compete in the CIF doubles draw today.
“It’s not looking too promising, but we still are going to try,”
said Rusty Miller, Wesley’s father.
