Melanie Whittington and Mark Hill are pleased to announce their

engagement and upcoming marriage on July 17, 2004. The couple will be

married at St. Edward Catholic Church in Dana Point, and the

reception will take place at the Clubhouse at Pelican Hill.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Nickel of

Dallas, Texas. She is a 1999 alumnus of Santa Margarita Catholic High

School. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of San

Diego with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy in 2003. She is an

associate with Nation Smith Hermes Diamond, a public accounting firm

in San Diego.

The groom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Hill of Laguna

Beach. He is a 1998 graduate of Laguna Beach High School. Mark

graduated cum laude from the University of San Diego and obtained his

bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in international relations in

2002. He works in the international department at the corporate

headquarters of Quiksilver in Huntington Beach.

Following a honeymoon on Turtle Island in Fiji, the couple will

live in Carlsbad.
