Take a closer look at middle college high

Orange Coast Middle College High School will hold an open house

for prospective students and parents from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday

in the Orange Coast College student center.

Administrators will provide an overview of the high school

program, curriculum and include student and parent testimonials.

Middle College High School is part of the Newport-Mesa Unified

School District and is located on the OCC campus. The high school

model is designed to provide an alternative setting for students who

have the potential for taking college prep classes but are not

maximizing their personal potential in a traditional high school

setting.

Because students are also enrolled as OCC students in at least

three units, students and staff members have full access to OCC

facilities such as the library, computing center, health services,

physical education buildings, science labs, tutoring center and Clark

Computing Center.

Concert series to star Browne and Colvin

Singer-songwriter Jackson Browne and Grammy award-winning singer

Shawn Colvin will perform on July 27 at the Pacific Amphitheater, 100

Fair Drive in Costa Mesa, as part of the amphitheater’s summer

concert series.
