Hilfiger to make South Coast Plaza appearance
A flock of celebrity models will strut the catwalk at South Coast
Plaza tonight for a special appearance by designer Tommy Hilfiger,
who will launch his H Hilfiger spring line.
Macy’s at South Coast Plaza is hosting the event, which will
feature a runway show with actress Juliette Lewis, singer Michelle
Williams of Destiny’s Child, celebrity heiress Nicky Hilton and
others modeling Hilfiger’s clothes. Hilfiger also will sign
autographs for the first 150 customers in Macy’s men’s store after
the fashion show.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Jewel Court near Macy’s mall
entrance at South Coast Plaza, 3333 Bristol St., Costa Mesa, with the
autograph-signing around 7 p.m. in the H shop in Macy’s men’s store.
Security service that makes you smile
Enrique Godinez, a security officer at South Coast Plaza, received
a Service Excellence Award Wednesday.
The Orange County Tourism Council gave out the awards at a dinner
presentation at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa.
Godinez was honored in the Shopping Centers/Retail category.
Godinez earned praise from one tenant for spotting a handcart full
of products inadvertently left in the parking garage. He tracked down
the owner and delivered the goods to the tenant.
The awards provide a chance for employers and patrons at
tourism-related businesses to recognize outstanding employees who
make sure visitors have a positive and memorable experience in Orange
County.

the park can handle up to 600 participants.
Members of the community interested in making cash or in-kind
donations of supplies and/or food should call (714) 754-4892, as should those interested in participating in painting and/or cleanup
activities.

Database offers chance to get a career going
The U.S. Department of Labor announced Thursday that it has a free
database for employers featuring 1,600 college students and recent
graduates with disabilities seeking summer and permanent job
openings.
The department’s Office of Disability Employment Policy, in
cooperation with the Department of Defense, offers the database of
job seekers with disabilities through its Workforce Recruitment
Program. The program is intended to give students with disabilities
the chance to start their careers.
A free CD-ROM database lets employers search for potential
applicants by field of study, state or school, in disciplines from
computer sciences and business to communications, engineering and
office administration. Searches generate candidate profiles, academic
and demographic data, and contact information from applications
recruited by the program from more than 180 colleges and universities.
The CD-ROM and additional information are available at
https://www.wrpjobs.com, or by calling (202) 693-7880.
