Lagunatics is set to hold auditions
Singers, dancers and comics are needed for “PG-55 Lagunatics --
Beauty Fades. Funny is Forever.”
Auditions are from 1 to 3 p.m. April 20 and 9:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m. April 21 at the Clubhouse 3 auditorium. No experience is
necessary.
Organizers encourage newcomers to “strut your stuff, make a joyful
noise and join the fun” by auditioning for “Lagunatics,” Laguna
Beach’s hit musical roast that will be appearing at Leisure World.
The show will use skits and parody lyrics set to musical hits to poke
fun at all the quirks that make Leisure World different.
Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled between May 2 and June 20
with performances June 25, 26 and 27. For information, call (949)

Concert will feature string quartet
Laguna Beach Live is will present its “First Sunday’s” concert
featuring the Deodara String Quartet.
Violinists Agnes Gottschewski and Christine Frank, violist John
Scanlon and cellist Richard Treat will perform works by Beethoven and
Borodin.
The free concert is from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The Laguna College
of Art and Design gallery opens at 2 p.m. at 2222 Laguna Canyon Road.

Experience is key at [seven-degrees]
Film screenings at [seven-degrees] are dedicated to the whole
cinematic experience.
The gallery will showcase the innovative independent film, “Divine
Intervention,” a Palestinian movie and winner of the Jury Prize at
the 2002 Cannes Film Festival. Light supper, dessert and conversation
will follow the film.

Ebell Club holds benefit for museum
Ebell Club of Laguna Beach is will host its first Laguna Art
Museum fundraiser from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday with docent tours and a
silent art auction. Dessert and champagne will be served.
The fee is a $25 donation per person with the proceeds to benefit
the Laguna Art Museum and other community projects.

College to present ‘Best of the Best’
“The Best of the Best of the Best” is Laguna College of Art and
Design’s annual juried student art exhibition. This exhibition will
show 98 pieces of original artwork by students, freshman to seniors,
and will run Sunday through May 3.
An artist reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The exhibit
is free with complimentary parking.

Join in and ‘Rock It for the Rocket’
To help raise money for a new rocket ship at Bluebird Park, Tivoli
Too will host a live concert by the Laguna Beach-based band the Blues
Offenders from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 18.
There will be a silent auction, raffle, kids’ activities and an
outdoor barbecue. Admission is $35 for adults, prepaid, $40 at the
door, and $15 for kids. The price includes barbecue.

Laguna Film Society to feature ‘Samurai’
The Laguna Beach Film Society will host the West Coast premiere of
“Twilight Samurai,” a 2004 Academy Award nominee for best foreign
film, April 8 at 7 p.m. at the South Coast Cinema, 162 Coast Highway.
Film society tickets are $15 for nonmembers or $12 for museum

Chamber Music Festival set
The second Laguna Beach Chamber Music Festival will be April 18 to
April 25.
The festival is a weeklong blend of performances and educational
