Jasmine Lopez delivered a two-run home run to right field to close
out a three-run sixth inning by Armed ‘N Dangerous, which went on to
post a 9-3 victory over the Aloha Girls in Huntington Beach Girls’
Softball 12-and-under Division play.
The first of the three runs in the inning came when Lana Rutkin
drew a walk and scored on Jenny Pilecki’s double.
Rutkin also had an RBI single in the first inning and stole home
and Dawn Charles doubled to knock in two runs in the second frame to
give Armed ‘N Dangerous the early lead.
After the Aloha Girls had rallied to tie the score in the fourth
inning, Armed ‘N Dangerous scored three more runs in the bottom of
the fourth to take control.
Charles, Jacquelyn Kent and Kelli McLin had hits in the inning.

The hitting and defense of Jane Reynolds helped get the Bobble
Heads past the Purple Crush in a game that went down to the final
out.
The Bobble Heads scored one run in the first inning on a double by
Dana Rutkin, a single by Cheyenne Rankin and a double by Kasey
Cutchshaw.
They pushed across another run behind singles by Lauren DiCambio
and Zoe Boomgarden, and in the third inning, the hitting of Rutkin,
Rankin and Cutchshaw once again combined for two more runs.
Trailing 4-2 in the fourth, the Purple Crush battled back to score
four runs to take the lead, 6-4. A leaping, backhanded catch of a
line drive by Reynolds at second base prevented the Purple Crush from
scoring more runs.
In Bobble Head’s last at-bat, Drew Bradley came up with a one-out
single and came around to score on DiCambio’s second hit of the day,
which tied the score.
With two out and DiCambio on third, Reynolds stepped up and
delivered the game-winning hit.
