Sage Hill’s Wilkins tosses gem
Sage Hill School senior Tim Wilkins threw a three-hit shutout with 12
strikeouts as the host Lightning topped Brethren Christian, 4-0, in
an Academy League baseball game Thursday.
Wilkins gave up two hits in the first inning and another in the
third, but nothing else and senior Jordan Salinger led off the
Lightning first with a home run for all the hosts (3-1, 2-1 in
league) would need.
Zack Shockley and Matt Loper had the only other hits for the
winners, who helped Wilkins outduel Warrior pitcher Tommy Kilbane.
