Three say leave Lido alone
Having lived on Lido Island for many years, I have many fond memories
of the village and would like to see it revamped and not replaced.
It’s a wonderful area for brunch, strolling around and shopping.

The answer to whether we support the plan to replace the Lido
Marina Village is no.
Why do we, as residents of one of the greatest places in America
to live, have to continually fight to keep it that way. No doubt,
Lido Marina Village can use a face-lift, but please, not a total
reincarnation into another, so familiar commercialization can attract
-- as developers hope -- tourists from Phoenix or Ohio, or wherever,
to come and go.
We just fought, and won, to preserve the priceless views from
Ocean Avenue in Corona del Mar from monumental obstructions projected
by thoughtless plans (of dolphins no less). So much time is wasted in
these wrong ideas. I know both the developers and the city hope to
make money out of the proposed “quality revitalization,” but it would
be at the cost of the residents who like it pretty much the way it
is.

Lido Village should not be revamped or replaced. At most, it might
be modified to serve businesses and the public better, but never
replaced with hotels and condos.
