Sun is shining, docent training is coming

The last two days of sunshine were amazing, and luckily I spent them
on the beach. Even luckier that it’s cloudy today (Wednesday) because
my column has yet to be written and it’s late, for good reason of
course.
First off I would like to say “Thank you” to all of the nice
letters that I have been receiving, and I know that I’m lagging on
responding to some of them. However, I do love your input and ideas
that you have been sending -- please keep them coming.
I especially enjoyed the “Modular” letter regarding the expensive
cost of living here. I wish you well on your journey and hope someday
soon you can return.
Another good letter came from the owners of the one and only
“Coffee Pub” Downtown, offering their support in having the first
annual “Laguna Night” bash.
Speaking of good times, if you haven’t experienced the “Art Walk”
yet, I highly suggest doing so. It’s a great time to enjoy a night
out on the town while supporting the galleries and stores.
In other art news, have you seen the new bench in front of Hotel
Laguna? It’s a silver fish with frogs attached to it. I like it, do
you?
More news: Tidewater Docent training is Friday, March 19; Ocean
Laguna’s docent program was conceived and organized by Surfrider
members Walker Reed and Fred Sattler. There will be a training
session for new docents at the Ocean Institute. If you want to help
protect and educate visitors, contact Fred at (949) 497-9367 or
Birthdays this week: Chris Claiborne turns 42, or was that 32?
Happy birthday, and we’ll see you at the Royal Hawaiian.
Till next week, enjoy the sun and keep the letters coming.
Peace.
