The Orange County Coastkeeper is looking for volunteers as the
organization expands the number of creek sites it monitors in the

Fourth of July board is seeking nominations for the 2004 Fourth of
July Centennial Celebration’s Community Grand Marshal. Candidates
must live or work in Huntington Beach and have participated in

The Winners Circle Breakfast will be hosted by the Huntington
Beach Chamber of Commerce. The featured speaker will be Asst. City

The Golden West College
gala will be a black-tie optional event with live music, a silent
auction and a drawing for a trip to Paris. The gala will raise money
for scholarships and college programs. The auction will begin at 5:30

Friends of Shipley Nature Center will hold a general meeting at
the Huntington Beach Central Library. The meeting will be held from 9

Huntington Beach Adult School will host the “Protector del Aqua”
series with the Municipal Water District of Orange County. The series
will teach basic landscaping, hardscaping and patio design concepts
geared to creating greater water efficiency in the home. The class

SUNDAY
Huntington Dog Beach will need volunteers to help clean the
beach. Free quarters for parking, cleaning supplies and pizza will be
provided. The cleanup will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Volunteers will meet at the white canopy near Tower 24. The closest
parking will be north of Goldenwest Street and south of Seapoint

The annual St. Patrick’s Day Mixer will be hosted by Sand Dollars
and Women of Action. Hors d’oeuvres will be served and a raffle will

A Luau Gala will be hosted by Huntington Beach Christian School
to raise funds for a school chapel. Hawaiian dancers will perform at

The Bolsa Chica Land Trust Wetlands Table and Mesa Tour will be
held at the Ecological Reserve parking lot on Pacific Coast Highway
across from Bolsa Chica State Beach. The two-hour walk will begin at
10 a.m. The walk will be canceled if it rains. The will be no charge

The Shipley Center Nature Tour will open the Nature Center to the
public for walking, birding other nature-related activities. The
Nature Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is located in
Central Park near the intersection of Edwards Street and Central Park

The Country Western A’Faire will be a fundraiser for the
Therapeutic Riding Center of Huntington Beach. A silent auction and

Chapter of the National Assn. of the Physically Handicapped
provides disabled children and adults the opportunity to make their

The Clara Barton chapter
of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will

The Point-to-Point
chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild meets on the fourth
