Code Red fastpitch team wins opener

Code Red defeated 24 Carat Gold, 9-3, in the Pacific Coast Girls

Fastpitch Softball League opener Feb. 26 at Bonita Creek Park.

Rene Mycorn pitched the first two innings for Code Red, allowing

no runs.

Jenny McCarthy and Jackie Graham finished the game, giving up one

and two runs, respectively.

Caila Chirichigno doubled and Helen Ray laid down a bunt.

Shortstop Maddy Mains and right fielder Hanalynn Hunt contributed

to the win. Hannah Gullick and Kadee Malone anchored the infield.

Catcher Elizabeth Cramer threw out a runner trying to go to

second. Brittany Martinez also played well behind the plate.

Carat Gold pitchers Laura Tolfa and Shari Mead threw well.
