The Newport-Mesa Unified School District offers menu choices each day
at elementary schools. Students may choose a vegetarian entree. The
selection might include either a salad, sandwich or hot entree.
School lunches are $2 each. Here’s what’s being served this week:
TODAY
Munchable Lunch Salad with Yoplait yogurt, or grilled cheese
sandwich; crisp green salad with ranch dressing; sliced peaches;
graham crackers; and choice of milk.
WEDNESDAY
Munchable Lunch Salad* or two mini-cheeseburgers, lettuce and
pickles; pineapple tidbits; reduced-fat Cheetos; and choice of milk.
THURSDAY
Munchable Lunch Salad or two soft tacos made with ground turkey,
lettuce, salsa and cheese; peach cup; fresh-baked cookie; and choice
of milk.
FRIDAY
Vegetarian health sandwich or Foster Farms corn dog; baby carrots
with ranch dip; applesauce; and choice milk.
MONDAY
Munchable Lunch Salad or Oscar Mayer all-beef hot dog on a bun;
potato wedges; Sun Maid raisins; and choice of milk.
The Munchable Lunch Salad contains tossed greens, cherry tomatoes,
crackers and protein sources such as cheese, sunflower seeds, fruit
yogurt and honey-roasted peanuts (*peanut butter on selected days).
Papa John’s Pizza is served one day a week with vegetable, fruit
and milk at each school in place of the regular menu.
MONDAY
College Park, Davis, Harbor View, Kaiser and Newport Elementary.
TUESDAY
Andersen, California, Eastbluff, Rea and Sonora.
WEDNESDAY
Mariner’s, Victoria and Wilson.
THURSDAY
Adams, Killybrooke, Newport Coast, Newport Heights and Pomona.
FRIDAY
Lincoln, Paularino, Whittier and Woodland.
