Sea Kings’ effort falls short at Tesoro
Senior guard Jay Northridge scored a game-high 26 points while Ryan
Lance and Pancho Seaborn each tallied 16 points, but the visiting
Corona del Mar High boys basketball team fell short in a 67-62
Pacific Coast League defeat to league-leading Tesoro Friday night.
Lance, who tied his career-high in points, hit three of CdM’s
season-high 13 three-pointers as part of his 11-point fourth quarter
while Northridge scored the other 10 points in the final period. The
Sea Kings (11-12, 2-5 in league) twice were down by four and had open
looks from threedom, but missed each time and were forced to foul,
said CdM Coach Ryan Curry, who was pleased with the effort his team
gave.
Tesoro (18-5, 7-0) made 10 of 10 free throws in the fourth period
and got 17 points each from Patrick Marion and Brian Nelson.
The Sea Kings host University (5-2 in league) at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
