Avalanche rolls over Wings

In the first of four Wales Division games played at Coast 2 Coast
Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach, the Avalanche rolled past
the Wings, 12-2.
Blake Cooper scored a match-best six goals to lead the way in the
mercy-rule win.
Other key Avalanche contributors were Brad Brandenburg, who scored
twice and assisted another goal, Andrew Wade, who scored once and had
three assists, and Christian Wildey, with one goal and two assists
for the Avalanche.
Jeff Fuzzard had seven saves.
Alex Litten scored both goals for the Wings.
In other Wales Division games:
Spiders 6, Predators 3
Cody Franks picked up two goals and a pair of assists to top all
Spiders in scoring.
Matthew Janssen and Joshua Walker each had a goal and assist, Josh
Wright and Eric Freese each scored and Hunter Schmidt had an assist.
Rory Folsom recorded 20 saves.
The Predators’ scoring consisted of goals by Eric Morejon, Roy Ahn
and A.J. Trentini and an assist by Brad Wilson.
Jeff Fuzzard had 26 saves.
Sabers 8, Extreme 2
The Sabers grabbed a 3-0 first period lead and never trailed.
Bryan Marony and Evan Zinger each scored twice with an assist
during a Sabers attack that saw Charlie Condron score once with an
assist, Timothy Francis score once and Cameron Marino get an assist.
Jacob Renaud posted 17 saves.
David Daley scored both Extreme goals, Justin Romers had an assist
and Anthony Ellis finished with 22 saves.
Thunder 5, Phantoms 3
In the final game of the night, Matty Nolan scored three goals to
pace the Thunder.
Ben Piontkowski scored once and had an assist, William DeWit
scored once, Nathan Wing had an assist and Matthew Duran had 21
saves.
Andrew Eggert, Nicholas Weldon and Joey Mahoney each scored goals,
Justin Pederson had an assist and Brett Shaver had 27 saves for the
Phantoms.
