Prep action resumes

After an empty schedule Monday, prep action resumes today with a full
slate, highlighted by four girls basketball games, including two key
league encounters.
In Sea View League play, Newport Harbor High (9-7, 0-1 in league),
looking to make a run to the top of the table, will play host to
Aliso Nigel (5-10, 0-1) at 7 p.m.
Defending Golden West League champion Estancia (4-11, 1-1) will be at home against Saddleback (11-3, 2-0) at 7 p.m.
AYSO registration
* SOCCER: Early AYSO Region 97 registration for players born
before Feb. 1, 1999, through age 18, is being held Wednesday from 6
p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mariners Elementary School multipurpose room in
Newport Beach.
Early registration, with a fee of $65 per player, is also
scheduled Jan. 20 at the same time and place. The registration fee
after Jan. 20 is $100.
All skill levels are welcome and new players must bring a berth
certificate. New players 8 and older will be rated according to skill
level at the registration site.
