CAPPELLA CANTORUM

Cappella Cantorum, the young adult choir of St. John Vianney

Chapel, is beginning its fifth year. The choir is open to students in

grades six to 12. It provides active faith participation for teens

during their high school years. Participation includes singing at

mass regularly and at special events. Rehearsals are from 11 a.m. to

1 p.m. Saturdays in the Chapel at 314 Marine Ave., Balboa Island.

ENVIRONMENTAL SCHOLARSHIP

St. Mark Presbyterian Church in Newport is offering an

environmental scholarship fund for two students. The scholarships

will only be offered through Chapman University and UC Irvine.

MENORAH LIGHTING

The Chabad Jewish Center invites the community to join it at 3

p.m. Dec. 21 at the Fashion Island in the Bloomingdale’s courtyard

for a menorah lighting. The world’s largest chocolate menorah will be

carved by Doug Weinstein and kindled by comedian and Rat Pack member

The Orange Coast Unitarian Universalists Church will hold a

Christmas Eve service, “Would You Like to Hold the Baby,” a Christmas

Members of the Bahai faith hold informal public discussions on

MEDITATION LESSONS

A free “lectio divina” meditation group meeting is held at 7:10

Newport Beach. Lectio is a style of meditation that includes using

Scripture or a special reading as a stimulus. The Christian

Meditation Group meets from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on the first and third
