Flight paths at JWA causing a ruckus

Let me get this straight:
South County dupes voters into rejecting an airport at the former
El Toro Marine base and instead votes in a “Great Park” scam. And now
thousands of homes and offices will be built there, creating more
traffic congestion and pollution than any airport could make.
Then as a result of El Toro going away, the Federal Aviation
Administration creates more unrestricted air space for John Wayne
Airport departing flights, which results in South County complaints
that noisy aircraft are taking off and flying too low over their
homes.
Is that great or what?

I totally concur with Ralph Warrington’s comments, “Complaints
about the roar overhead,” which ran in the Forum section Saturday,
regarding John Wayne Airport airplane noise over Corona del Mar.
The noise is compelling and overwhelming since the pilots have
been crossing the coastline closer to the harbor entrance, instead of
flying out over the ocean as they used to do. I also notice the
deafening and debilitating roar after 9 p.m. with the extended flight
times. This increased noise is completely unnecessary, and I
recommend the pilots return to their old flight pattern out over the
ocean so we Corona del Mar residents once again can get some sleep.
