The Newport-Mesa Unified School District offers menu choices each day
at elementary schools. Students may choose a vegetarian entree. The
selection may include a salad, a sandwich or a hot entree. School
lunches are $2 each. Here’s what’s being served this week:
TODAY
Munchable Lunch Salad with Yoplait yogurt; or bean and cheese
burrito; veggie sticks with ranch dip; apricots; animal crackers; and
a choice of milk.
WEDNESDAY
Munchable Lunch Salad; or galaxy cheese pizza; broccoli with ranch
dip; a fresh pear; pretzel goldfish; and a choice of milk.
THURSDAY
Munchable Lunch Salad; or pasta with marinara sauce and meatballs;
fresh-baked whole-grain roll; crisp green salad with ranch
applesauce; and a choice of milk.
FRIDAY
Munchable Lunch Salad*; or chicken tenders and corn; 100% fruit
juice bar; and a choice of milk.
MONDAY
Munchable Lunch Salad; or chicken patty sandwich on a bun; green
beans; peaches; and a choice of milk.
The Munchable Lunch Salad contains tossed greens, cherry tomatoes,
crackers and protein sources such as cheese, sunflower seeds, fruit
yogurt and honey-roasted peanuts (*peanut butter on selected days).
Papa John’s Pizza is served one day a week with vegetable, fruit
and milk at each school in place of the regular menu.
