‘Our Town’ will be playing in our town
Newport Harbor High School’s production of “Our Town” will run
from Nov. 20 to 23 at Costa Mesa High School.
The venue has changed from Newport Harbor’s theater, which is not
in use.
Newport Harbor’s drama department has won awards in the California
Education Theater Assn.
The play will run at 7 p.m. Nov. 20 to 22 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 23 in
Costa Mesa High School’s Lyceum Theater.
NASA consultant
to lecture Tuesday
NASA consultant Stacy Nelson will speak Tuesday at a mentorship
meeting held by the Southern California branch of the Costa
Mesa-based Assn. of Women in Technology, a nonprofit organization
that promotes women and girls in technology fields. Nelson is a
software-quality consultant for NASA and has worked with Boeing,
Hitachi and Microsoft.
Registration for the mentorship meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. with
the meeting scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sun Microsystems
office, 2020 Main St., Suite 1200, Irvine. The AWT mentorship program
matches technology professionals with AWT members to teach them about
careers and business development. Attendance is free for members.
Guests pay $10 in advance or $15 at the door. For advance
