Homeowners associations continue to hinder adoptions of large
breed dogs and cause grief for people who adopt puppies that grow
above height regulations.
“Bo” is a 9-month-old, spayed female, Rottweiler mix puppy who was
rescued by Community Animal Network with the help of the landlord who
rallied against his homeowners association and risked financial
punishment to protect the rental tenants’ dog.
Our rescue team is faced with the continued problem of big dogs
needing placement and not enough temporary homes being provided by
the pet-loving community. It took us quite a while and a lot of
telephone work to find Angela Stewart who describes her new foster
dog as “awesome” and “a big love bug who loves children.”
On a daily basis, our rescue phone lines are faced with the
problem of “big dogs” needing immediate help as renters are forced to
give up their animals. Cost Mesa resident Patti Dennis of Valerie
Pollard dog training will be used to provide an evaluation
consultation for the dog. The involvement of a trainer will make it
easier for “Bo” to find the right home and is an added perk for her
new pet parent. We are accepting donations, memo checks to “Bo’s
Rescue.” Her training and the vet medical necessities were quite
costly. Someone will get a great dog!
