When I was told we needed a weather picture late in the day, I rushed

out and headed down Harbor Boulevard. When it rains there is more

activity and action there than almost any other street in

Newport-Mesa. The rain stopped and I was a little worried since, as

usual, time was short.

I turned right on Harbor from Victoria and began looking. I didn’t

have to look far.

I saw a massive puddle on the black surface and knew I could get a

reflection shot there. I pulled over and composed the shot.

While waiting for a person to enter the picture a woman struck up

a conversation from her car. While talking, I interrupted her,

crouched, got the shot and continued talking to the woman about

cameras. Apparently her camera was broken and she was hoping I could

fix it.
