Halloween events abound

Festive Halloween events are scheduled at shopping centers throughout
Newport Beach. On Saturday, the fun fifth annual Doggy Costume Party
will be from noon to 3 p.m. at Three Dog Bakery at Corona del Mar
Plaza. The costume contest will start at 2 p.m. Costumed dogs can
have a free slice of cake and have a photo taken with their owner.

CARNIVAL
Also on Saturday, there’s an annual Halloween Carnival at Newport
Coast Shopping Center. Proceeds will go toward Newport Coast Cares,
an organization that supports children’s causes. Fun activities will
include carnival games and a costume contest. There will a haunted
house for teenagers through adults from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday through
Sunday. Carnival tickets can be purchased at Pavilions in the Newport
Coast Shopping Center at $15 per person. Family passes are available

WINDOW PAINTING
On Sunday, there will be a Halloween window painting contest for
all ages at Newport Coast Shopping Center and at Westcliff Plaza, at
Irvine Avenue and 17th Street in Newport Beach. The contest will be
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; judging will start at 4 p.m. Retailers allow
participants to paint their windows; supplies are provided.

Newport Blvd. Children, adults and families residing, working or
attending school in the city of Newport Beach are eligible for entry.

PUMPKIN GIVEAWAY
Other Halloween events will include the annual Great Pumpkin
Giveaway on Friday, Oct. 31, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Corona del Mar
Plaza. The event will include free pumpkins, games, prizes, kids
crafts and goodie bags. Radio Disney will add to the fun. At Fashion
Island, there will be trick-or-treating from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on
Halloween. There will be face painting and a balloon artist, too.

CELEBRITY LOOKS
Celebrity makeup artist Vincent Longo will be at Sephora South
Coast Plaza on Saturday introducing his new fall cosmetics line
colors. Vincent and his experts will show you how to create hot
