Parada named preseason All-America

UC Irvine senior center Adam Parada has been selected to the

CollegeInsider.com preseason Mid-Major All-America team, which was

announced on Tuesday.

Parada is one of 25 members of the team which also includes

Cedrick Banks of Illinois-Chicago, who UCI opens the season against

in the Dell Black Coaches Association Classic in Cincinnati, Ohio,

Nov. 15.

Parada averaged 12.2 points last season and led the Anteaters in

rebounding at 6.2 per contest.

He is UCI’s career leader in blocked shots (111) and he ranks 10th

in rebounds (598) and 16th in scoring (977). Parada, a two-time

member of the All-Big West Conference second team, led the league in

field-goal percentage at .545 in 2002-03.
