Coyotes hold off Patriots to win title

The Coyotes had six players break into the scoring column, and the

defense held off a late rally by the Patriots to emerge with a 7-5

victory in the championship game of the Pee Wee Division playoffs at

Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey in Huntington Beach.

Matt Deutschmann’s two goals paced a Coyotes’ attack that saw

single goals come from Aaron-Sam Johnson, Michael Mendez, Sean

Kleckner, Jeff Deutschmann and Jason Wall.

Matt and Jeff Deutschmann, Wall, Mendez and M. Alex Kleckner all

had an assist.

Sam Robinson’s three goals and assist paced the Patriots, who also

got a goal and an assist from Adam Paul and Wes Barnes and an assist

from Adam Daley.

Squirt Club Division

Pink Tutus 10, PC Falcons 90 7

The Pink Tutus scored eight goals over the final two periods to

pull out the division title.

Mark Miller scored two goals and had a pair of assists in the

victory.

Darren Nowick scored once and assisted three goals, Parker Conant

and Kelan Stewart each scored once and had two assists, Dakota

Eveland and Colten Dagneault each had a goal and assist, Tyler Lakes

and Bo Valsaco each scored once, and Cameron Berkenkamp had an

assist.

Matthew Case recorded 17 saves.

Ryan Daley scored three goals to lead the PC Falcons 90. Two goals

went to Kevin Christi, Jeff Fuzzard scored once with an assist, Matt

Braun scored once, and Travis Benson had a pair of assists.

Aaron Nguyen had 21 saves.

Atom Club Division

OCB 95 10, Fusion 5

A five-goal first period sent OCB 95 onward to victory and the

division crown.

Matthew O’Donnell and Troy Loggins each scored twice during the

first quarter outburst, the fifth goal going to No. 5.

Loggins finished with three goals and two assists, Christian Weber

scored twice, James Andrews scored twice and had three assists, and

Josh Duchon had an assist.

For Fusion, Kyle Christi led the charge with two goals and an

assist. Julien Laux scored once and had an assist, and Eric Newfield

and Jason Callanan each scored once.

Kyle Merrick finished with 31 saves.
