Sea Kings unbeaten in league

The path is looking awfully familiar for the Corona del Mar High
girls golf team this fall, but the Sea Kings hope history does not
repeat itself.
CdM defeated University, 228-238, at Newport Beach Country Club on
Tuesday as the Sea Kings improved to 7-3, 3-0 in the Pacific Coast
League. Last year, CdM won its first five league matches, but then
lost the final three to finish third in the PCL.
Katie Albright shot the lowest score for CdM at 6-over 41, while
Katie McKitterick (42), Maggie Nelson (47), Caitlin McDonald (47) and
Jonna Kim (51) also contributed to the victory.
“This was a real solid win for us,” CdM Coach Mike Starkweather
said. “[Critics] had them ahead of us. But this win is not to say
that league is over because we have to play them on their course. We
have a lot of work ahead of us.”
