Yurman art to promote research
Jewelry designer David Yurman will host a fund-raising event at
Diane DeBilzan Gallery on Oct. 25 and 26 with a cocktail party from 6
to 8 p.m. Oct. 25.
Yurman has partnered with the AIDS Community Research Initiative
of America to develop an art exhibit of artwork based on the notion
of time. The exhibit will also include several new Yurman timepieces.
Diane DeBilzan and her gallery artists William DeBilzan and Louis
Longi will donate a percentage of sales during the exhibit to benefit
the research initiative group.
The exhibit will travel across the United States, before its final
Nov. 13 destination in New York City.
Diane DeBilzan Gallery is at 224 Forest Ave. Please RSVP by Oct.
21 to DeBilzan at (949) 494-5757.
No Square looking for top dogs
No Square Theatre will hold “dogditions” for the role of Sandy in
its upcoming performance of “Annie Warbucks.”
For the few who don’t know, Sandy is the scruffy sidekick that
Annie finds wandering the streets of New York in the original
Broadway musical “Annie.” “Annie Warbucks” is the sequel to this
story.
Here are a few of the requirements for the canine co-star:
Sandy should be reasonably well-behaved (no unrehearsed jumping
off the stage, no attacking the stage manager, no mistaking a piece
of the set for a tree, etc.) basic obedience would be nice.
Sandy should be cute, cuddly and full of character.
Sandy needs to be medium-sized.
And sandy coloring would be a definite plus.
If these attributes sound familiar, bring your pooch to Square One
Rehearsal Studio at 221 Broadway at 2 p.m. on Oct. 5.
“Annie Warbucks” will be performed on Nov. 21, 22, 23 at the Forum
Theatre on the Festival of Arts grounds and Dec. 17, 18 at the
Clubhouse 3 Auditorium in Laguna Woods. Some limited rehearsals will
be necessary for both dog and master. For more information, please
call No Square Theatre at (949) 497-1950.
