Bob and Ray comedy night

A re-creation of comedy sketches from the golden age of radio will

be presented at the Laguna Beach Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at

8 p.m. on Saturday.

The show stars professional actors Steve Bloch and Wes Martens as

the legendary team of Bob Elliott and Ray Goulding. The program has

been selected from the best of 3,000 Bob and Ray scripts written by

Leisure World resident Tom Koch between 1955 and 1987.

Tickets are $12 each. The church is at 429 Cypress Drive. For

Community Concert Band plays benefit

Laguna Presbyterian Church will host a benefit concert by the

Laguna Community Concert Band.

Proceeds from the event will go to support the AIDS in Africa

Home-Based Care Kids Mission Project.

The concert will be at 4 p.m. Oct. 12 at the church, 415 Forest

Ave.

Refreshments will be served. A $10 donation is suggested. Tickets

are available at the door or church office. For more information,

The Laguna Presbyterian Church will hold services at 9 and 11 a.m.

Sunday. Jerry Tankersley will give the sermon. Sunday school for

toddlers through fifth graders and nursery and toddler care will be

provided.

Wednesday evening services at St. Paul’s

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will be holding mid-week services at 7

p.m. Wednesdays beginning this month. Pastor Charles Mallie will

serve as liturgist.

The primary focus of each service will a be a verse-by-verse

exposition of scripture preached by Rod Rosenbladt in a format like

that used by Chuck Smith, John MacArthur and J. Vernon McGee.

Rosenbladt, a noted theologian, is a professor at Concordia

University in Irvine with a doctorate from the University of

Strasbourg, France. Rosenbladt is also a co-host of the White Horse

Inn, a national radio program heard in our area at 9 p.m. Sundays on

KKLA -- 99.5 FM. The program addresses major theological issues.

St. Paul’s offers Sunday morning Bible study at 9 a.m. and a

worship service at 10 a.m. The church is at 1190 Morningside Drive.
