Costa Mesa Fire receives $4,000 grant
The city of Costa Mesa announced Tuesday that State Farm Insurance
Co. gave it a $4,000 grant for the Fire Department.
The department will use it to buy supplies for a recently
purchased public education trailer.
Funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance
to Fire Fighters 2002 grant program allowed the department to buy the
trailer.
The department will host a check presentation at 10 a.m. Sept. 4
at Fire Station No. 4.
John Wayne Airport receives A+ rating
John Wayne Airport officials learned Tuesday that Fitch Ratings
has given the airport an A+ rating on its $141-million in outstanding
general revenue bonds and upgraded its outlook from “stable” to
“positive.”
The A+ rating shows the airport has a strong financial position
marked by good liquidity, a low debt burden, strong debt service
coverage and a healthy passenger demand.
No trash collection on Labor Day in Newport
Areas of Newport Beach regularly scheduled for trash collection on
Sept. 1 will have to wait a day because of Labor Day.
There also will not be street sweeping on Sept. 1.
