UCI hires assistant coach

Brent Lorenzen has been hired as an assistant swimming coach at UC

Irvine the university announced Monday.

Lorenzen has served as the senior coach for the Novaquatics swim

club from 1996-1998 and from 1999-2003. He also served as the

director of masters swimming from 1999-2000.

Previously, Lorenzen was a volunteer assistant coach at University

of California, Berkeley in 1995-96. He received his Master’s degree

in exercise physiology from UC Berkeley in 1996. He also holds a

bachelor’s degree in biological anthropology from Harvard, received

in 1994.

Lorenzen will serve under head coach Brian Pajer, who will begin

his second year at the helm of the Anteaters.
