CdM finishes 25th in JOs

The Corona del Mar girls water polo club team finished 25th at the

USA Water Polo Junior Olympics, which ended Sunday and took place at

various high schools throughout Orange County.

CdM, which includes players from the high school, lost its first

match Saturday, 3-2, to Los Angeles, but came back to win Sunday to

finish 25th after defeating the CHAWP club of Chino Hills, 8-4, at

Capistrano Valley High.

Vivian Liao and Jordan Anae scored one goal each Saturday, but CdM

could not overcome a 3-1 deficit. However, Katya Eadington scored

three goals to lead CdM to the victory over CHAWP. Amy Strack, Katie

Kubas, Natalie Wayte, Anae and Liao contributed one goal each, while

Brittany Fullen recorded five saves.
