Man robs World Savings Bank
A man quietly robbed the World Savings Bank on Warner Avenue on
Tuesday afternoon taking about $700, police said.
The alleged robber was described as a white male, 6-foot-1, 170 to
180 pounds, unshaven, with short brown hair and rimmed glasses. He
entered the bank at 4:12 p.m., approached the teller and flashed a
handwritten note that said, “Hand me all your money, including the
second drawer,” said Huntington Beach Police Lt. Janet Perez.
As the teller removed the money, the man was reported to have
said, “No dye pack.”
He left through the west doors with $700 in U.S. currency and fled
southbound on a Black Mountain bicycle, which officers later found
behind a nearby Ralph’s supermarket, officials said.
The man was estimated to be between 20 and 30 and was wearing a
brown shirt and a white T-shirt.
No weapon was seen, and the incident was quiet.
“A lot of times in these cases, people in the bank don’t even know
there was a robbery,” Perez said.
The robbery is under investigation.
