Tennis tourney sign-ups begin

Registration is open for the 42nd annual Huntington Beach Open

Tennis Tournament.

The event will run the weekends of Aug. 16 and 17 and Aug. 23 and

24 at the Pacific Sands Cabana Club in Huntington Beach.

Competition will be held in these divisions: Open, Open Senior

Men, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0.

Tournament applications can be picked up at the club. Registration

can also be done online at www.active.com. The Pacific Sands Cabana

Rookies Soccer still enrolling

Rookies Soccer, presented by the West Coast family Branch YMCA of

Huntington Beach, is taking registration for its fall session.

Rookies Soccer is open to children ages 3 to 7.

The six-week season begins Sept. 22 and runs through Oct. 30.

Skills development, character development, sportsmanship and

safety will be covered in the program.
