Rollover causes hourlong SigAlert
Three women escaped with minor injuries after the sport utility
vehicle they were in rolled over and landed upside down on the
southbound Corona del Mar Freeway on Monday afternoon, snarling
traffic for more than an hour, officials said.
The incident happened at about 5:55 p.m. on the freeway at Irvine
Avenue when the driver of the Ford Explorer lost control of the
vehicle while trying to avoid something on the road, Costa Mesa Fire
Battalion Chief Keith Fujimoto said.
The women suffered neck and back pain and minor cuts, fire
officials said. Two were taken to Hoag Hospital and one to Western
Medical Center in Santa Ana, Fujimoto said.
A SigAlert was issued for about an hour.
