Sony store planned for South Coast Plaza

Sony Electronics has announced plans to introduce a new retail

store at South Coast Plaza called Sony Style.

Scheduled to open in the fall, the store will showcase Sony’s line

of electronics products, including small digital cameras, elaborate

home theater systems and other cutting edge merchandise.

Designed with polished steel, kinetic lighting and enormous

“lifestyle” images, the store is expected to attract a high-end

clientele.

The South Coast Plaza shop, in 6,000 square feet of space, will be

the first of its kind, but Sony has plans to roll out others. The

shop will replace Ann Taylor, which moved to another section of the

center.

The store will also feature a concierge desk, a consultation

booth, Wi-Fi Internet access and online product information.

“Sony’s decision to open its first Sony Style concept store at

South Coast Plaza will enhance our customer’s enjoyment of another

unique shopping experience,” said Henry Segerstrom, a managing

partner and owner of C.J. Segerstrom & Sons, in a press release.

“South Coast Plaza is proud to be chosen by Sony to introduce this

exciting retail concept.”
