Another season comes to a close
The 2003 Laguna Beach Little League season has officially came to an
end.
Laguna’s last postseason hopeful -- the Junior Division All-Star
team, which made some waves in the District 55 All-Star Tournament --
was eliminated from the double-elimination event following a 22-1
setback to Viejo.
Viejo went on to a runner-up finish behind division champion North
Mission Viejo in a tournament played at Windrow Park in Irvine.
Laguna began the tournament with a 13-1 rout of Tijeras Creek and
followed with a 3-1 defeat of Trabuco Canyon.
Its two-game win streak was snapped by Rancho Niguel which posted
an 11-1 victory which sent Laguna into Second Chance bracket play.
Laguna came back to edge Rancho Santa Margarita, 6-5, before being
eliminated from the tournament by Viejo.
The Junior All-Star team was comprised of Devin Hands, Max
Hilburn, Chris Hyden, Andy Lyon, Ryan McCarter, Jordan O’Brien, Max
Parmentier, Cameron Pearson, Nathan Pickett, Trevor Pierce, Ryan
Pigden, Michael Porter and John Wes Robinson.
