All-Stars in the family

It’s safe to say that baseball has consumed the Pierce household.

Days, evenings and even meals are planned around practice and

games and, just like last year, this summer won’t officially started

for the Laguna Beach Little League family until sometime in mid-July.

That’s because the Pierces -- Tom, Wendy, Trevor, Dillon and Tyler

-- have been emersed in baseball of the regular season, league

postseason and All-Star kind.

Tom Pierce managed during the regular season and now has his

Junior League All-Star team in the Final Four of the District 55

All-Star Tournament.

Wendy, his wife, managed at the Majors level during the regular

season and then skippered the division’s All-Star squad in district

play.

Sons Trevor, 14, Dillon, 12 and Tyler, 10, were named to the

All-Star teams at the Junior, Majors and 9 and 10 levels,

respectively, and competed in district play.

All three were named as All-Stars last year, too.

“It’s been a busy baseball season, to say the least,” Tom Pierce

said. “If I don’t have a game to manage, Wendy did, or the boys were

playing. It’s been nuts.”

With the District 55 tournaments scheduled to be completed next

week, the Pierces can see vacation time on the horizon: Tom Pierce

said the family will go camping sometime in August.

“I’m ready to get my sanity back,” Wendy Pierce said.
