All-Stars win district openers
The Little League Majors Division All-Star teams from Seaview and
Huntington Valley opened play Monday night in the District 62
All-Star Tournament with impressive victories.
In Area 1 play at Huntington Valley Little League, the host team
emerged with a 7-3 victory over Fountain Valley.
In Area 2 competition hosted by Costa Mesa National at TeWinkle
Middle School in Costa Mesa, Seaview downed the host team, 4-1.

Seaview rode a quick start and the pitching of starter Chris
Czerniachowski to a win over Costa Mesa National.
Seaview came up big in the first inning by scoring three runs on
five hits to take command.
Czerniachowski held Costa Mesa in check in his five innings on the
mound.
He yielded just one hit, walked a batter, gave up a run and struck
out six.
Jake Burke threw the sixth inning and put the finishing touch on
the victory.
Offensively, Ryan Miller produced three RBIs, JB Bryant went two
for three and Kyle Boswell came off the bench to deliver a pinch hit
single and scored a run.
“We came out strong in that first inning and gained control,”
Seaview Manager Chris Miller said. “We played solid defensive all
around. We caught the ball and threw the ball very well. It was a
nice win.”
Seaview plays its second tournament game tonight at 5 p.m. at
TeWinkle School against the winner of the Ocean View-Robinwood game.
Huntington Valley 7, Fountain Valley 3
Race Parmenter threw a complete game victory and Tim Higgins
homered as host Huntington Valley prevailed in this opening round
matchup.
Parmenter allowed four hits and walked a batter.
Higgins hit his home run in the fifth inning, driving in two runs.
Parmenter backed his performance on the mound with a bases loaded
double.
Huntington Valley plays the winner of the Westminster-Costa Mesa
American game tonight in winner’s bracket play. Game time is 5 p.m.
at Huntington Valley.

Seaview opened district play with an impressive 15-5 victory over
Ocean View.
