The Huntington Beach Art
Center Gallery will feature a solo exhibition from Sacramento
artist Joan Moment today through Aug. 9. The exhibit will feature
four series: Hand, Garden Fresco, Nasturtium and Constellation. The
gallery is open Thursdays from noon to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Friday and
Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Admission

Kool Kat Kollection Art Exhibit will be at the Central Library
through June 30. The Kool Kat Kollection is a series of whimsical
paintings depicting the adventures of a Huntington Beach cat and his

The Huntington Beach
Church of Religious Science will present the eighth annual Eric
Strom Memorial Concert, “A Salute to Freedom,” an evening of music,

Playhouse will present “Heaven Can Wait” by Harry Seagall, the
story of a prizefighter, Joe Pendelton, who dies only to discover it

Pier Plaza Art A-Faire Weekends will be held at the outdoor Pier
Plaza adjacent to the Huntington Beach Pier, this craft fair features
more than 50 vendors selling unique, hand-made gifts and crafts from
10 a.m. to sunset. Admission is free. Information: (714) 536-2213.
Adventure Playground is open in Central Park. Adventure Playground
is a naturally wooded area with a man-made shallow pond, a mud slide
and cable slide for kids to explore. Activities are limited only by a
child’s imagination. Kids 6 and older are provided hammers, nails,
saws, lumber, old “junk” and rafts to create forts, clubhouses and
unusual looking hide outs. Bring a towel, a change of clothes and
shoes for the children, as well as a bag to carry dirty supplies
home. There are changing rooms and a shower for rinsing. Tie-on shoes
are mandatory -- sandals and water shoes are not allowed in the
playground. The playground is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through
Friday at Central Park near Gothard Street, 7111 Talbert Ave. General

Saturday Sunrise Car
Cruisers, billed as the best free car show in the world, is a
15-year tradition that brings classic and hot rod car collectors,

The eighth annual Peter’s
Landing Swap Meet is a marine swap meet where treasures such as
dinghies, canvas pillows for boats, nautical jewelry, fishing poles,
rods and reels and anchors can be bought and sold from sunrise into
the afternoon at Peter’s Landing north parking lot at Pacific Coast
Highway and Anderson Street. Admission is free, vendor spaces are
